Belfast Rang Like A Bell, But Really Fast.

Belfast weekend with IFSA Butler:

Left on Thursday, February 21, 2008.  I missed school that day to grab a lift to Galway, Ireland.  Then I got on a bus to Belfast, Northern Ireland.  This seemed like a rather long bus ride which I took while sitting beside a guy from South Carolina... it was crazy to hear a southern accent coming from someone not in my family... (I'm basically the only southern person at the Burren College of Art)...  anyways we arrived in Belfast and had a brilliant dinner with desert and everything!  I ate so much food!  Then we went to this famous bar called the Crown Bar, which had victorian decoration and the floor and ceiling were incroyable!  The next day we had a tour around Northern Ireland... hitting Giants Causeway, which was super super windy... and then we went to the county of Londonderry, or Derry depending on if you are Catholic or Protestant.  We also went to a castle called Dunluce but the wind was so strong that our emergency exit flew off the bus while we were outside... I didn't stay outside long b/c the wind was super dangerous...  then we got back and ate some dinner (we had to pay in quid (pounds))... then we went out and it was kind of a slow night that night... next day we had to ourselves... I went to the market with my roomie for the weekend whose name is Helle pronounced Hella!!!  Then I headed off to the Linden Hall Library to look at my name, Caldwell.  I also found my name Carra but spelled Cara... then I got lost on my own looking for galleries but I eventually found the two art galleries I was searching for... they were small but I guess they were worth finding them... Belfast is a somewhat depressing and scary city... but this is probs because I was walking around alone... but I just felt like I could feel the trouble there... It obviously has gotten way way way better than it used to be... but I'm glad I can say I've visited because it was quite an adventure.

xoxo Gossip Girl... hahah that joke never gets old...
