So during the days of February 26 to the 29th we took a trip to Berlin, Germany. I've always thought I would know what the city would look like... but I was totally blown out of the water... Berlin is amazing! It is filled with graffiti everywhere... of which the people of Berlin call the tradition... that is the tradition of graffiti. We went to Checkpoint Charlie which is a big part of where the wall used to be... I think this is where a lot of people got to cross when they weren't supposed to or allowed to... we got to walk through noman's land like it was the easiest thing ever... which was totally a weird feeling. We went to many galleries, which gave me an idea of how well Germany or at least Berlin, treats its artists. There was art every corner you looked!!! I took so many pictures of stencils and stickers that were everywhere!!! We went to this building that was so artfilled... the inside and outside of the building was covered in people's tags and graffiti and stickers and stencils! I forgot what the place was called but it was so neat! Later that night that we went to the building we went up to like the 5th floor to the bar there and chilled out for a while. The vibe was very chill and the room was dark with warm red lighting... I ate so much food in Germany because everything there is so much less expensive than in Ireland... let's just say I seemed to be living the good life in the food department that week! I ate a meal of about a whole pizza and a large glass coke for only 5 euros! You could never get that here in the Eire, but I'm not hating on Ireland b/c I love it here...
Germany Germany Germany... the language barrier was so cute and some people spoke english which helped us so much!!!
We went to the Jewish Museum... it was so different from the one in Washington, D.C. I actually felt okay when I left... it was more like a Museum with a lot of dedication to the Jewish people of Germany and everywhere... it wasn't depressing so much... it was more of a memorial... I felt good and it was nice to go there... I recommend that people go to the Jewish Museum in Berlin...
this is def. the short story version of my trip but sometimes it's just hard to write down everything... our hotel was pretty cool... i forgot to thad that part haha
but yes... berlin was cool
it was good to come back to ireland though
the magic here hasn't worn off...
